The F-factor

Our Mission

     The F-factor utilizes fashion as a tool to employ creativity, build self-confidence, and nurture the self-esteem of foster children and abandoned youth.

It is hard to imagine what changes a child experiences when being placed in foster care.  Try this... everything that used to be yours is now gone! That includes your siblings, parents your room and all of your belongings.  The only shoes you now own are on your feet.  This traumatic transition leaves children with an overwhelming feeling of loss and abandonment. 

The innocence children have in this role clearly defines our responisbility as adults to provide for children whose parents cannot. 

Donations of clothing are available. Typically they are hand-me-downs; used clothing that may or may not fit the kids.  Can you imagine what affect this might have on a child’s confidence?

The F-factor is an organization designed to meet an everyday need of foster children or abandoned youth. We provide brand new clothes, shoes and necessities to foster youth in a unique experience through our signature Fashion Workshops.  The workshops offer an educational, fulfilling and uplifting experience for those youth struggling to find stability in their life. 

We a apply a one-on-one strategy to each child who participates in our workshops.  We offer the most information in developing a strong character, posture, and confidence.  These tools and a polished, fashionable look are building blocks in helping children regain self-worth, acceptance among peer groups and success in their everyday life. 

With the resources gained from your support The F-factor facilitates Fashion Workshops catered to all foster kids and abandoned youth.   Using fashion as our tool to employ creativity and education in life skills, kids will have the opportunity to pick out clothes suiting their style, shape and size. NO hand-me-downs! Each child walks away with brand new tops, pants, socks, shoes and a backpack for school.  All new, never been worn clothing!

The years a child spends in the foster care system are crucial in molding their young minds to becoming adults that are capable, self-sufficient and humane.  Your support can help wash away abandonment and let these children know their community supports them as individuals.
